  • Together we will systematically develop your knowledge of foundation Matwork Pilates exercises to create a safe, confident & effective practice for your body moving into the future.

  • The New to Pilates - Matwork Course is for every body; no matter your age or fitness level. You don’t need any prior knowledge to do my New to Pilates - Matwork Course. I’m here for you! We begin with the true basics; Breath-work, Pelvic Floor & Transverse Abdominal activation work. Each chapter builds slowly adding new exercises whilst returning to previously learnt ones to hone in on the technique of each.

  • Each class has a PDF break-down of the new exercises learnt. I encourage you to practice each routine 2-3 times before moving onto the next. Though, it is entirely up to you what pace you do the course at. You can follow the videos each time or work off the PDF class break-down to challenge your memory & work to form a deeper understanding of how each exercise feels in your body.

  • Even with the content of this course designed for complete newbies, you’ve still got options. As we progress through the repertoire I’ll provide modifications & advancements for various exercises. You can then take each lesson at your own pace.

  • The New to Pilates - Matwork Course will teach you;
    - Pilates Breath
    - Deep Core activation
    - Pelvic Floor toning
    - Pelvic & Shoulder placement & balance
    - Movement & Breath coordination
    - Strength & endurance conditioning
    - Balance training
    - Joint mobility & flexibility for reduced aches/pains
    - How to incorporate Pilates props (small equipment)
    - The Pilates Principles
    - Mindful Movement for a happy, health body, mind & soul.

  • Having a solid Pilates foundation with mat classes before heading to equipment allows your body to better understand how to support itself without outside resistance or support. The machines can actually support you too much. By using your own body as resistance, you will learn how to engage the right muscles to perform Pilates exercises with proper alignment & form.
